| Question: Why are snowmelters rated in tons/hr and a range of cubic yards/hr? |
| Answer: Tons is a measure of weight while cubic yards is a measure of volume. In order to determine the proper cubic yards per ton, you have to determine the snow density that you are melting. For instance a very dense snow (high water content) will take longer to melt than a less sense snow (lower water content). As a result, it is important to understand the difference and what real life snowmelting expectations are with any snowmelter. |
